Back in Texas

Ryno and I just got back to Texas late last night. I am so excited to be home and excited to share with you all again! I took a lot of photos while in Washington. Unfortunately, I also learned that there is a reason we have nice digital cameras and that my phone camera is not meant to be the lone source of our picture taking. You will see what I mean...

Our trip started with us flying into Seattle, then picking up our rental volkswagen and driving on a very dark highway to Bellingham, Washington. We stayed in a cabin that looked out onto Whatcom Falls, and we hiked out there the first day to see the waterfall; it was lovely. The rest of our time was spent primarily in Lynden, Washington participating in all the events for Ryno's friend's wedding. It was great to visit with friends from school and to make several new friends too!

After the wedding festivities wrapped up and the couple left for their honeymoon, we packed into our rental with our friends to return to Seattle. We got an early start, so we were able to fit in a few site-seeing activities before they had to catch their return flight. Ryno and I stayed a couple days longer than everyone else from the wedding party, but we were all able to have one last lunch with the entire group at Crab Pot in Seattle. It was a fun place to go with a large group. Almost everyone ordered crab, so we all had little wooden mallets that were pretty entertaining.

Since our friends from our school days had a later flight out then everyone else, the four of us decided to check out Pike's Market, The Underground Tour and the original Starbuck's (we think). The Underground Tour was really interesting, and I would definitely recommend it to others. It was the sort of thing that you had to experience to really understand how the historic district was built.

I will post more tomorrow about what all Ryno and I saw during our last full day in Seattle.
