Spring Break is in full swing in Austin, and it's been quite a busy week and a half for us. Our families both flew home on Sunday, and I have been busy wrapping up all my tasks at work to prepare for our vacation to Seattle. Neither Ryno nor I have ever been to Seattle, and while we both have been to the west coast before this will be our first trip there together! However, I'm getting a little ahead of myself. I will share more details about Seattle later this week.
For now it's all about Spring Break and South by Southwest (SXSW). One of Ryno's good friends from home now by way of LA is in town for the fest, so we have been trying to catch up with her in the evenings. We are hoping to get to participate a little bit more in SXSW before leaving for Seattle, and I will let you know if we do. As for last week, we spent a lot of time at the lake house in the evenings. However, we did do a few activities too. Wednesday night we went to Auditorium Shores to let Elton run around, and then we enjoyed a picnic dinner while watching the bats fly out from under the Congress Street Bridge. Thursday night Ryno and his two brothers went on the social bike ride. His little brother rode my old now new again 70's road bike that my dad gave me (more to come on the bike later). Saturday morning we headed to San Antonio to see the Alamo, and site-see downtown. It was such a fun day, and I was so excited to finally be able to show Ryno one city that I lived in as a kid. Until this trip he had never seen any of my hometowns...yes, I have a few.
We had a wonderful time visiting with our families, and I hope we can have them all come visit again soon!
