We had friends visiting from Atlanta this weekend. It was a beautiful weekend and we were able to spend most of Saturday outside. We started with crepes at Flip Happy Crepes. As much as Ryno and I have talked about going it was our first time actually making it there while they were open. Our group ended up with savory and sweet crepes, and I thought both were equally delicious. After breakfast we headed to a brewery tour of Live Oak Brewery. It is our favorite local brewer, and I absolutely love their hefeweizen beer! We have toured the brewery before, but I still left with a new piece of trivia. Our guide told us that the Live Oak taps are made from real Oak trees. I was really impressed that they make their own taps, and even though I have no use for a beer tap I still kind of want one just because they are handmade. After the brewery we headed to the Texas Book Festival. Unfortunately, we just missed Lisa Loeb who was there to promote her new children's book. We took our time walking around enjoying the book selection and the lovely views of the state capitol. There were a lot of festivals surrounding the capitol this weekend, so it was fun to see some of the activity pouring over from those festivals as well. Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!
