pink peonies and yellow bonnets

Today, I am excited to have pink peonies! They are the same color as the peonies from my wedding bouquet, which makes me love them even more.

I listened to The Decemberists a lot today. I was reminiscing about seeing them perform earlier this year. My favorite song from the new album was June Hymn. I love the lyrics and the way they sound to the music. That sounds silly, but you have to hear it to understand. My favorite verse (followed by the chorus) is...

pegging clothing on the line
training jasmine how to vine
up the arbor to your door and more
standing on the landing with the war
you shouldered all the night before

and once upon it yellow bonnets garland all the lawn
and you were waking, day was breaking a panoply of song
summer comes to springville hill
