I hope you are all enjoying a great start to the new year! Ryno and I spent it at home with my family. It was the last night everyone was in town as my sister flew back to the East coast yesterday morning. The past few days have been a nice mix between relaxing and entertaining.
We surprised Dad with Willie Nelson concert tickets for Christmas, so Friday night we were downtown for the show. It was the first time any of us saw him perform live, and we really enjoyed it! Even at 78 Willie is energetic and puts on a great show. He also had his daughters and sons playing with him, which added a nice family element to the show.
Last night, Mom and I made gnocchi for dinner from scratch. I've been wanting to learn how to make some of the pastas my Italian grandmother made, since gnocchi is my favorite we started with it. Today, we are going to check out some parks around Austin. It's beautiful here, so we're going to get out and enjoy the weather.
Have you made any resolutions? Last year I think I went a bit overboard with the resolutions, so this year I am taking a more relaxed approach to the new year. I am planning to just make this year about focusing on the things Ryno and I love and love to do.
Happy 2012 everyone! Thank you for visiting me here!
